Curly Party Hairstyles to Emphasize Your Gorgeous Texture

1. Rockabilly Roll

We are a wee bit obsessed with this ’50s #throwback hairstyle. The rockabilly roll is just like the victory roll, which is basically a pin curl. We know, it sounds like a lot. But, to create this cool girl style, all you need to master is the pin curl. To make it a rockabilly roll, create a pin curl with a small section of hair right on top of your head. Then, instead of pinning it so the curl is flat, twist it so the curl sits upright. Then, pin in place for a cool style that will last all night.

2. Jeweled Space Buns

Take any bun up a notch by adding on little jewels. You can find little hair clips all over the internet. You can find them plain, in a bunch of different colors, but our current favorite is metallic. This style is particularly great for after work. Just pull your hair into a bun (or two for the space buns look) and apply a couple of jewels. Fun hair in less than five minutes.

3. The Hair Flip

This party hairstyle is our favorite because you can do it in literally seconds. To achieve the hair flip, just grab a section of hair from one side of your head and flip it over to the other side. Simple as that! We like flips for curly party hairstyles because it’s simple and looks great on everyone. This style also helps to give you volume if you hair has deflated throughout the day.

4. Slicked Down Hair

For a similar but higher contrast look, try slicking down the short side of your hair. We find, when doing styles that require gel at the roots, the straighter the part the better. So instead of just flipping your hair, make a straight part for this look. Then, on the shorter side, slick down your hair with the Nexxus New York Salon Care Exxtra Hold Sculpting Gel. The high hold is totally necessary for keeping your hair in place.

5. Pineapple Hair

Pineapple hairdos are great because they are a protective style that’s also super cute. We like this version, where the model is rocking the wet hair look. To achieve this, just apply the TRESemmé Flawless Curls Defining Gel to your wet hair before styling. Apply a little more than you’re used to, to make sure you get the wet look. Then, pull your hair into a pineapple hairstyle.

6. Simple Braided Style

Want a simple style that will keep your hair out of your face? Try a braid! We like this half-up braided look because it allows your natural texture to come through with the rest of your hair. You can wear this look with a French braid, or a cool fishtail braid. When it comes to curly party hairstyles, the tighter the braid the better! It will show up better against your curls.

7. ’80s Volume

Oh, yeah. We’re loving this totally voluminous ’80s look. To get that quintessential ’80s messy look you’ll need to tease your hair. Use a small teasing comb to pull back on your curls, just do a swipe or two per curl to make sure you aren’t left with a giant knot. Then, when all the curling is done, use the Dove Style+Care Strength and Shine Flexible Hold Hairspray to set your big curls.

8. Perfect Heatless Curls

We’re all about heatless styles here at All Things Hair, especially on natural hair. We like this gorgeous curly dreadlock look. Or, if you aren’t wearing locs follow this tutorial for perfect curls using flexirods. The process is super easy and your hair sets while you sleep. Can’t get much better than that!
